Erdogan will visit Doha next month to attend the meetings of the Qatari-Turkish Strategic Committee

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Doha on the sixth of next December, to head his country's delegation at the meeting of the seventh session of the Qatari-Turkish Higher Strategic Committee, which will be held in the Qatari capital.


Turkish Ambassador to Qatar Mehmet Mustafa Kokso told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that the Turkish president's visit will last for two days, and that the meeting will witness the signing of more cooperation agreements between the two countries in various fields.

 Qatar and Turkey signed eight new agreements during the sixth meeting of the Joint Higher Strategic Committee, which was held last year in Ankara, that varied between defense military cooperation, economic and industrial cooperation, in addition to the field of international trade, free zones and water resource management, as well as an agreement in the field of Islamic, religious and family affairs.
The Joint Higher Strategic Committee between Qatar and Turkey was established in 2014, and Doha hosted its first session in December of the following year, and since its establishment, it has held six meetings, equally between the two countries, resulting in the conclusion of 52 agreements in various fields.

The volume of bilateral trade exchange between the two countries increased from $340 million in 2010 to more than $2 billion in 2019, while Qatari investments in Turkey amounted to more than $22 billion, with 179 Qatari companies operating in Turkey.
